APPROPRIATING $18,000 FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR
STATE - MANDATED TESTING OF UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS
WHEREAS, a recent state law requires that all underground
storage tanks be tested to determine leakage and contamination of
the surrounding soil and ground water and provides funds for
reimbursement to local agencies for fiscal year 1985 -86 costs for
monitoring and reports relating to underground storage tanks
which contain hazardous substances, including motor vehicle fuel;
and
WHEREAS, a proposal has been received from an
environmental engineering consultant to perform the testing for
the estimated amount of $18,000; and
WHEREAS, the work must be performed and claims submitted
to the State Department of Finance on or before May 14, 1986;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the sum of $18,000 is hereby appropriated from
the General Fund for state- mandated testing of underground
storage tanks.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 4th of March, 1986,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
