AWARDING CONTRACT TO DURAN & VENABLES, INC. FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF SPRUCE STREET EAST OF THIRD STREET, P.W. 7-85-20
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda heretofore
published notice calling for bids for construction of Spruce Street
East of Third Street, in accordance with Specifications P.W.
7-85-20, approved April 1, 1986; and
WHEREAS, in response to said notice a sealed bid was
submitted by Duran & Venables, Inc. agreeing to perform said work in
accordance with said Specifications for the sum of $83,325.45; and
WHEREAS, said firm is a responsible bidder and its proposal
is the lowest and best bid received;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the bid of Duran & Venables, Inc. is hereby accepted,
the contract for construction of Spruce Street East of Third Street
is hereby awarded to said bidder, and the Mayor is hereby authorized
to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, said contract on behalf of
the City of Alameda; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $86,000 be and
0 hereby is appropriated from Highway Users Tax Account Sec. 2107
Funds to fund the construction of this project; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $30,000 be and
L hereby is appropriated from Highway Users Tax Account Sec. 2107
Funds to fund the removal of the structure located in the

r right-of-way.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th of May, 1986,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament -
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
