AWARDING CONTRACT FOR SEVEN 1985 PASSENGER VEHICLES FOR
POLICE USE TO THE HERTZ CORPORATION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Alameda
heretofore published notice calling for bids for seven passenger
vehicles for the Police Department, in accordance with
Specifications No. MSP 5-86-1, approved May 5, 1986; and
WHEREAS, in response to said notice a sealed bid was
submitted by the Hertz Corporation agreeing to furnish said
vehicles in accordance with said specifications for the sum of
$51,424.59; and
WHEREAS, said firm is a responsible bidder and its
proposal is the lowest and best bid received;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Alameda that the bid of the Hertz Corporation is hereby
accepted, the contract for purchase of seven 1985 Ford LTD
passenger vehicles for the Police Department is hereby awarded to
said bidder, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and
the City Clerk to attest, said contract on behalf of the City of
Alameda.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 3rd of June, 1986,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
