AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE
ALAMEDANS WITH HOUGING OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDED EQUALLY FOR
FISCAL YEAR 1986-S7.
WHEREAS, Equal Housing Opportunity is a right
guaranteed to all Americans under Title VI and Title VIII of
the Civil Rights Act of 1968; and
WHEREAS, the City is a participant in the
Community Development Block Grant Program authorized under
the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 as
amended; and
WHEREAS, Housing Counseling and Shared Housing
Services are eligible uses of CDBG funds under Section 24
CFR 570.206(c) and under Section 24 CFR 570,2O1(e);
WHEREAS, the City has programmed $21/700 in
Twelfth Year CDBG Entitlement Funds for Housing Counseling
Services, and $9°000 in Twelfth Year CDBG Entitlement Funds
for Shared Housing Services; and
WHEREAS, Alamedams with Housing Opportunities
Provided Equally (HOPE) exists and is qualified to provide
such housing opportunity counseling and services;
NOW/ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of
the City of Alameda that the City Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, on
behalf of the City, a Grant Agreement with Alamedans with
HOPE for fiscal year 1986-87,
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the lath of July, 1986,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Monsef and President Diament - 4.
NOES: Councilmember Lucas - 1.
ABSENT: None.
