REJECTING SINGLE BID FOR INSTALLATION OF HOUSE
LATERALS AND OTHER WORK CONNECTED THEREWITH FOR
FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 1987, AND DIRECTING
PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE WITH PRIVATE
CONTRACTORS FOR EACH INSTALLATION REQUIRED
WHEREAS, on July 1, 1986 this Council adopted Plans and
Specifications P.W. 6 -86 -19 and called for bids for the project
for the Installation of House Laterals and Other Work Connected
Therewith for Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 1987; and
WHEREAS, the single bid submitted is over the estimate
for said project and is not acceptable; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that as each request
for a House Lateral is presented, the Public Works Director should
negotiate with a contractor for each installation for the 1986 -87
fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that said Council hereby rejects the bid received and
opened on July 15, 1986; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Director is
hereby directed to negotiate with private contractor(s) for each
'installation required during the 1986 -87 fiscal year.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5t1 of August, 1986,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council ember Cortca, Hanna, Lucas,, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
