RESCINDING THE REJECTION OF BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF CROSSWALKS AT PARK STREET, FROM CENTRAL AVENUE TO
SANTA CLARA AVENUE, NO. P.W. 3 -86 -4, AWARDING CONTRACT
TO AMBO CONCRETE, INC. AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
THEREOF
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda heretofore
published notice calling for bids for Construction of Crosswalks
at Park Street, from Central Avenue to Santa Clara Avenue, in
accordance with Specifications No. P.W. 3 -86 -4 approved March
18, 1986; and
WHEREAS, in response to said notice the lowest and best
sealed bid was submitted by Ambo Concrete, Inc. agreeing to
perform said work in accordance with said Specifications for the
sum of $71,387.00; and
WHEREAS, said bid exceeded the available funding and on
May 6, 1986, by its Resolution No. 10886, this Council rejected
all bids and directed modifications to the plans and
specifications; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that modifications of the
specifications would result in unacceptable parking restrictions
in the Park Street Business District and that Assessment District
84 -2 funds planned for other projects could be used to fund this
project as originally set out in the specifications;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Resolution No 10886
adopted on May 6, 1986 is hereby rescinded in its entirety; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the bid of Ambo Concrete,
Inc. is hereby accepted, the contract for Construction of
Crosswalks at Park Street, from Central Avenue to Santa Clara
Avenue, is hereby awarded to said bidder, and the Mayor is hereby
authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, said
contract on behalf of the City of Alameda.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 19th of August, 1986,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers. Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
