Resolution 11065CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11065 CONFIRMING CANVASS BY REGISTRAR OF VOTERS OF ALAMEDA COUNTY OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION CONSOLIDATED WITH THE GENERAL ELECTION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1986 WHEREAS, the Registrar of Voters of the County of Alameda did duly canvass the votes cast in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California, at the Special Municipal Election consolidated with the General Election of the State of California held on November 4, 1986, in said City, by the electors of said City upon the Charter Amendment Measures hereinafter set forth, and the Registrar of Voters of said County did certify to this council the results of the votes cast at said Election upon said Measures, which certification is now on file in the office of the City Clerk. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA as follows: 1. Said Canvass by the Registrar of Voters of Alameda County as shown by said certification and the result of said Election is hereby ratified, confirmed and approved. 2. At said Election the following Charter Amendments to the Charter of the City of Alameda were submitted to the electors of said City and the number of votes were as follows: AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA MEASURE F MEASURE F: Shall the Charter of the City of Alameda be amended to limit the number of terms an official may serve to two terms? Said amendment will be accomplished by adding Section 2 -16 to said Charter, all as fully set forth in Resolution No. 10989 of the Council of the City of Alameda. 1 TOTAL TOTAL VOTE VOTE "YES" "NO" 7,972 10,876 MEASURE G MEASURE G: Shall the Charter of the City of Alameda be amended to provide that a City Councilmember may not be eligible for the office of Mayor before the term of office for which he or she was elected expires? Said amendment will be accomplished by adding Section 2-17 to said Charter, all as fully set set forth in Resolution No. 10989 of the Council of the City of Alameda. TOTAL TOTAL VOTE VOTE "YES" "NO" 6,303 12,306 3. The total number of votes cast in the City of Alameda at said Special Municipal Election and the total number of votes given in each precinct for and against said Measures was and is as set forth in said Canvass by the Registrar of Voters of Alameda County. 4. Less than a majority of all the votes cast at said Special Municipal Election on Measures G and F were in favor of said Measures and, accordingly, did not authorize the amendments to the Charter of the City of Alameda as set forth in said Measures, and Measures F and G did not pass. 2 I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 16th of December, 1986, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament - 5.
