AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF A UTILITY
VEHICLE FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the Police
Department budget for the purchase of a utility vehicle to
replace a van in use in the Identification Section; and
WHEREAS, there is available through the State of
California General Services cooperative purchase program a Ford
Aerostar, Mini -Van which would provide the utility and
flexibility required of the needed vehicle; and
WHEREAS, this vehicle is the best option for its intended
use and can be obtained at considerable savings to the City
through the cooperative purchase program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter the
Police Department, in cooperation with the City Purchasing Agent,
is hereby authorized to purchase a Ford Aerostar, Mini-Van from
the State of California Department of General Services.
1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 17th day of March, 1987
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas,
Monsef and President Diament - 5
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
