AWARDING CONTRACT TO GEORGE E. MASKER, INC. FOR
REPAINTING OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND STREET LIGHTS AT
VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN ALAMEDA, P.W. NO 2-87-5, AND
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION THEREOF
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda heretofore
published notice calling for bids for Repainting of Traffic Signals
and Street Lights at Various Locations in Alameda, in accordance
with Specifications No. P.W. 2-87-5 approved. March 3, 1987; and
WHEREAS, in response to said notice a sealed bid was
submitted by George E. Masker, Inc. agreeing to perform said work
in accordance with said Specifications for the sum of $24,420.00; and
WHEREAS, said firm is a responsible bidder and its proposal
is the lowest and best bid received;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the bid of George E. Masker, Inc., is hereby
accepted, the contract for Repainting of Traffic Signals and Street
Lights at Various Locations in Alameda, is hereby awarded to said
bidder, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City
Clerk to attest, said contract on behalf of the City of Alameda.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Director
is hereby authorized to negotiate with George E. Masker, Inc. to
utilize the favorable bid price and extend the subject work to the
amount of $58,000, as budgeted and approved for Fiscal Year 1986-
1987.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 7th of April, 1987,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and President Diament 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
