ADOPTING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND CALLING FOR BIDS FOR
ISLAND DRIVE EAST SIDE IMPROVEMENTS - STREET RECONSTRUCTION,
P.W. NO. 4 -87 -8, AND DIRECTING CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE SAME
WHEREAS, specifications and plans have been prepared for Island
Drive East Side Improvements - Street Reconstruction, numbered P.W. 4 -87 -8
and filed in the office of the City Clerk on April 28, 1987; and
WI- AREAS, advertising for bids and bid opening date are subject to
the receipt of the State of California encroachment permit for work at
Doolittle Drive (State Route 61).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that said Specifications be, and the same are, hereby approved
and adopted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda
will receive sealed bids up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock p.m. on THURSDAY,
JUNE 4, 1987, or on such other date as designated by the City Engineer,
for furnishing to the City of Alameda all labor, materials, machinery, tools
and equipment necessary for the work hereinabove referred to, in accordance
with said Specifications and Plans. Bids must be presented to the City and
plainly marked on the outside, "Proposal for Island Drive East Side Improve-
ment - Street Reconstruction," or similar designation.
Contract, if awarded, will be awarded subject to the provisions
of the Charter of the City of Alameda, to the responsible bidder who submits
the lowest and best bid. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids.
Said Specifications may be had by any prospective bidder on
application to the Director of Public Works, at his office in the City
Hall, Alameda, California.
Upon receipt of the State of California encroachment permit, the
City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the Alameda Times -Star, a
notice calling for sealed bids, in accordance with the provisions of this
resolution and of said specifications and plans.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in adjourned regular
meeting assembled on the 28th of April, 1987,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef
and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
