Resolution 11190CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11190
DECLARING MAY 31, 1987, "ALAMEDA CLEAN BEACH DAY"
WHEREAS, litter spoils the natural beauty of the Alameda
beach; and
WHEREAS, trash and other litter are sources of disease
and breeding grounds for pests; and
WHEREAS, adults, children and animals can be hurt by
sharp objects (such as broken glass, cans, etc.) littering the
Alameda beach; and
WHEREAS, to generate an enthusiasm and a commitment among
beach users to take an extra step toward effectively cleaning
up after themselves and others each time they use the beach and
other public areas "Alameda Clean Beach Day" has been organized
by concerned citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that said Council hereby declares May 31, 1987
P "Alameda Clean Beach Day ".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that those who use and enjoy it
are urged to participate in a clean up day at the beach in
Alameda on May 31, 1987.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 5th of May, 1987,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Corica, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef
and President Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
