COMMENDING KARIN LUCAS FOR HER SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ALAMEDA AS
CITY COUNCILMEMBER
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA records its appreciation
for the four years of service faithfully rendered by KARIN LUCAS
as Councilmember of the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, KARIN LUCAS was elected to the City Council on
April 19, 1983 and served from 1983 until 1987; and
WHEREAS, KARIN LUCAS in discharging the responsibilities of
her office, accepted appointment as Alameda's representative to
the Alameda County Training and Employment Board/Associated Com-
munity Action Program which is the designated employment and
training agency in Alameda County; and
WHEREAS, KARIN LUCAS also served the Council as its repre-
sentative to Alameda County's Solid Waste Management Authority;
and
WHEREAS, KARIN LUCAS has been a leader in, and major propo-
nent of, efforts of the Historical Advisory Commission in support
of preservation activities; and
WHEREAS, KARIN LUCAS has been a leading advocate for the
West End, and particularly for the Police Foot Patrol on Webster
Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Alameda does hereby express its sincere appreciation for her
contributions of time, effort, and experience for the benefit of

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of
Alameda, City Staff, and many friends throughout the community

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 19th of May, 1987,

Mayor Corica - 4.
