AWARDING CONTRACT FOR LEGAL ADVERTISING FOR CITY
OF ALAMEDA FOR FISCAL YEAR 1987-88 TO ALAMEDA
TIMES-STAR
WHEREAS, the Alameda Times-Star is the only newspaper
with a general circulation and published in the City of Alameda
with a bona fide circulation of at least 1,000 copies; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Times-Star has been the sole
bidder for legal advertising in the past and until such time that
the bidding process is necessary, the contract for legal
advertising should be an open market award to the Alameda
Times-Star; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Times-Star has submitted rates
to publish all legal advertising to the City of Alameda during
the fiscal year 1987-88 at the following prices:
Price per column inch
First insertion $8.25
Price per column inch
Second insertion and all
subsequent insertions 8.00
Minimum inches: 3
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
7 City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City
:charter, the proposal submitted by said Alameda Times-Star is
hereby accepted and the contract for the publication of all legal
advertising of the City of Alameda during the fiscal year ending
June 30, 1988 is hereby awarded to said Alameda Times-Star, and
that the Mayor be and hereby is authorized to execute, and the
City Clerk to attest, said Contract on behalf of the City of
Alameda.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 16th of June, 1987,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Haugner, Monsef and
Acting President Thomas - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Mayor Corica - 1.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the official seal of said City this 17th day of
June, 1987.
