AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF GRANT AGREEMENT WITH BAY AREA COMMUNITY
SERVICES, INC. (BAC) FOR PRE-VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING FOR ADULTS WITH
PSYCHIATRIC HISTORY FOR FISCAL YEAR 1987-88
WHEREAS, the City is a participant in the Community Development
Block Grant Program (CDBG) authorized under the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS, there is a citywide need for pre-vocational skills
training and social rehabilitation for adults with a psychiatric
history; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the provision of
pre-vocational skills training and social rehabilitation is an eligible
use of funds under Section 570.201(*) of the CDBG regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City has programmed $8,401 in Thirteenth Year CDBG
funds from the Community Development Block Grant Entitlement for the
purpose of providing pre-vocational skills training and social
rehabilitation for eligible individuals in the City; and
WHEREAS, the Subgrantee is uniquely qualified to provide said
services;
NOW, TB8D8FURE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that the City Manager be and hereby is authorized to exaoute,
and the City Clerk to attent, on behalf of the City, an agreement with
Bay Area Community Services, Inc. for pre-vocational skills training and
social rehabilitation for Fiscal Year 1987-88.

Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 7th of July, 1987,
