AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE ALAMEDA MAIN STREET
PROJECT, INC. FOR COMMERCIAL REVITALIZATION SERVICES FOR FISCAL YEAR
1987-88
WHEREAS, the City is a participant in the Community
Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) authorized under the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1074. as amended; and
WHEREAS, the City's economic development policy calls for programs
and activities to stimulate and revitalize the downtown and neighborhood
commercial areas of the City; and
&08DDAS. FY 1987-88 Urban Development Action Grant Loan Repayment
funds in the amount of $42.746 have been allocated to the Alameda Main
Street Project to provide professional staff support to the Greater
Alameda Business Association, the Park Street Business Association and
the West Alameda Business Association; and
WHEREAS, FY 1088-87 CDBG funds in the amount of $3'150 have been
carried forward for FY 1985-87 audit services; and
WHEREAS, Urban Development Action Grant Loan Repayment funds in the
amount of $58.000 have been allocated to the Greater Alumeda, Park
Street and West Alameda business districts to carry out promotions and
to obtain clerical services and support, liability insurance, education
and training in support of commercial revitalization activities; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Main Street Project, Inc. exists to provide a
wide range of activities leading to downtown and neighborhood commercial
revitalization;

Alameda that the City Manager be and hereby is authorized to aoeoute,
and the City Clerk to uttont, on behalf of the City, a Grant Agreement
with the Alameda Main Street Project, Inc. for fiscal year 1987-88.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 7th of July, 1987,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Haugner, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
