Resolution 11266CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION N0.11266 URGING THE CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE TO SUPPORT ASSEMBLY BILL 1798 (SB 300 TRAILER BILL) WHEREAS, SB 300 approved by the Governor on October 2, 1985 provided for additional allocations to cities and counties for streets and highway maintenance and reconstruction; and WHEREAS, the Alameda City council unanimously adopted on April 7, 1987 resolution #11181 requesting that the legislature amend SB 300 (Section 2127 of the Streets and Highway Code) which stipulates city and county allocations for roads maintenance and reconstruction must be expended according to the expenditures of the 1984-85 base year; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda did not meet the base year 1984-85 expenditure requirement and notified the State Controller by October 1, 1986 of our non-compliance; and WHEREAS, AB 1798 authorizes any city/county under 100,000 population an alternative base year and a complete elimination of the maintenance of effort requirement if the city notified the State Controller of its non-compliance to the maintenance of effort requirement by October 1, 1986, and WHEREAS, AB 1798 will extend the deadline for expenditure of SB 300 funds to October 1988. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City \,v'rof Alameda that said Council hereby urges the legislature to Csupport AB 1798 (SB 300 Trailer Bill).
