AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH ALAMEDA
COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR DISTRIBUTION
OF MEASURE B FUNDS
WHEREAS, at the General Election of November 4, 1986, the
voters of Alameda County approved Measure B which increased the
sales tax from 6 -1/2% to 7% to provide for transportation funds
for maintenance and for special projects; and
WHEREAS, this legislation also created the Alameda County
Transportation Authority, which is made up of members appointed
by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, and
WHEREAS, the Authority authorized an agreement for
distribution of Measure B funds, which must be executed by each
jurisdiction in Alameda County prior to distribution of Measure B
funds.
WHEREAS, a proposed agreement between the City of Alameda
and the Alameda County Transportation Authority for distribution
of Measure B Funds has been submitted to this Council, and the
Council is fully informed and aware of the terms and conditions
thereof; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of
Alameda that said agreement be entered into,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to execute, for and on behalf of the City, that certain
agreement referered to above by and between the City of Alameda
and and the Alameda County Transportation Authority for
distribution of Measure B funds.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 21st of July, 1987,
by the following vote to wit:

and President Corica - 5.
