Resolution 11334CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11334 OPPOSING AGREEMENTS FOR EXTENSIONS OUTSIDE BART SERVICE DISTRICT WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) has approved an agreement with SAM TRANS which would provide San Mateo County with BART service; and WHEREAS, this agreement is contrary to BART's policy of not extending the system beyond San Francisco, Alameda and Contra Costa Counties until commitments on extensions to areas within those counties have been met; and WHEREAS, BART's first priority should be to the people of the three BART counties who for 25 years have been putting their tax money on the lien to build and maintain the system that exists .w today; AND WHEREAS, the BART System Map depicts a further extension outside the district into Santa Clara County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda, requests that the BART Board of Directors rescind their action approving the agreement with SAM TRANS. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 3rd of November, 1987, by the following vote to Wit: AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Haugner, Monsef, Thomas and President Corica - 5. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the official seal of said City this 4th day of November, 1987.
