RESOLUTION IN RESPONSE TO AC TRANSIT FIVE-YEAR
PLAN DRAFT - FISCAL YEARS 1988-92
WHEREAS, a contingency plan of AC Transit, to meet its
unfunded deficit, is to implement specific cuts on routes in
Alameda; and
WHEREAS, studies have shown that a significant number of
Alameda commuters who travel alone said they would consider using
the bus if the service were more direct or frequent; and
WHEREAS, the contingency plan to meet the unfunded
deficit might discourage commuters from using the bus service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the Council hereby rejects AC Transit's proposed
. service cuts.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 1st of December, 1987,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Haugner, Monsef, Thomas and
President Corica - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Camicia - 1.
