AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF REQUEST FOR COASTAL
CONSERVANCY GRANT FUNDING FOR PLANNING WORK
RELATED TO THE BAYVIEW SHORELINE BIRD SANCTUARY
HABITAT RESTORATION
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda on May 5,
1987, approved a conceptual approach to the legalization of fill
and seawall construction along the Bayview Shoreline; and
WHEREAS, the approved approach involved in part the
designation of the publicly-owned shoreline from Broadway to
Ravens Cove as a Bird Sanctuary, and restoration of the habitat;
and
WHEREAS, the Coastal Conservancy has funds for planning
grants related to shoreline habitat restoration projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
.of Alameda that the Council hereby authorizes submittal of a
.crrequest to the Coastal Conservancy for grant funding to pay for
planning consulting services related to the habitat restoration
and Bird Sanctuary designation.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing

the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 15th of December, 1987,
