EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO U. S. SENATOR PETE WILSON
WHEREAS, Pete Wilson represents the State of California
as a United States Senator; and
WHEREAS, Senator Pete Wilson provided invaluable support
and assistance to the City of Alameda and the tenants of the
Buena Vista Apartment Complex; and
WHEREAS, Senator Pete Wilson's efforts and influence on
Capitol Hill made it possible for the City of Alameda to receive
additional Section 8 Existing Housing Program Vouchers through
the Housing and Urban Development Department for use by the Buena
Vista Apartment tenants faced with eviction as a result of low
income housing units conversion to market rates.
WHEREAS, Senator Wilson's immediate action in support of
the Naval Aviation Depot, Alameda, when it was faced with
possible cutbacks - closure is deeply appreciated by the citizens
of the City of Alameda.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of
the City of Alameda extends its sincere appreciation to U. S.
Senator Pete Wilson for the assistance he provided to alleviate
the low-income housing emergency existing in the City and his

continued and increased support for the City of Alameda and its

Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 19th of January, 1988,
