Resolution 11412CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11412 AWARDING CONTRACT TO TRANS-BAY CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW RECREATION BUILDING AND RELATED IMPROVEMENTS AT FRANKLIN PARK, AUTHORIZING EXECUTION THEREOF, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FROM THE DWELLING UNIT TAX ACCOUNT WHEREAS, at the Alameda City Council meeting of October 20, 1987, Resolution No. 11318 was approved rejecting all bids and authorizing staff to negotiate on the open market for construction of a new recreation building and related improvements at Franklin Park; and WHEREAS, said action was taken because only two bids were received for the project and both were significantly higher than the architect's estimate; and WHEREAS, proposals have been received from three qualified contractors based on minor modifications to the original scope of work; and WHEREAS, Trans-Bay Construction, Inc. submitted a written bid agreeing to perform said work in accordance with Plans and Specifications No. 6-87-14 as adopted on September 18, 1987, with minor modifications, for the sum of $212,813; and WHEREAS, said firm is a responsible bidder and its proposal is the lowest and best bid received. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City 3 of Alameda that the bid of Trans-Bay Construction, Inc. is hereby accepted, the contract for Construction of a New Recreation Building and Related Improvements at Franklin Park is hereby awarded to said bidder, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, said contract on behalf LL of the City of Alameda. I 4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of 4-Alameda that the sum of $85,194 is hereby appropriated from the > Dwelling Unit Tax account to provide additional funding necessary \—rzto complete said project. 1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 1st of March, 1988, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Haugner, Monsef, Thomas and Mayor Corica - 5.
