AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF
ALAMEDA AND STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR AUTOMATIC GATES
AT SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD GRADE CROSSING D-1318C,
ATLANTIC AVENUE AT CONSTITUTION WAY, AND AUTHORIZING
EXPENDITURE OF $13,000 FROM ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 84-3
WHEREAS, Phase II of Constitution Way (formerly Patton
Way) consisted of continuation of Constitution Way from the
southern limit of Phase I, at Marina Village Parkway, to Eagle
Avenue and the extension of Atlantic Avenue from Webster Street
to Thau Way; and
WHEREAS, said project realigned Atlantic Avenue at the
Southern Pacific railroad crossing which resulted in required
railroad crossing gates; and
WHEREAS, on February 23, 1988, the State of California
Department of Transportation submitted to the City a Local Agency
- State Agreement for the construction of railroad crossing
gates, Atlantic Avenue, Southern Pacific Railroad Crossing No.
D-1318C; and
WHEREAS, to have this work done it will be necessary for
the City to enter into said agreement with the State, with City
costs amounting to 10% ($13,000) of the total construction cost
of $130,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the Interim City Manager and the City Clerk be,
and each hereby is, authorized and directed to execute and to
attest to, respectively, on behalf of the City, an agreement
between the City of Alameda and the State of California for
Automatic Gates at Southern Pacific Railroad Grade Crossing
D-1318C, Atlantic Avenue at Constitution Way.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the expenditure of $13,000
is hereby authorized from Assessment District 84-3 for the
City's share of the construction costs.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing'
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 15th of March, 1988,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Thomas, Monsef, Camicia, Haugner
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
