Resolution 11442SOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
VOLUNTEERS FOR THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
No. 11442
WHEREAS, the volunteers for the City of Alameda, through their
contributions, dedication, generosity and outstanding service have met
the needs of the community, and;
WHEREAS, the Volunteer Program allows volunteers an opportunity
for personal growth, to gain valuable work experience and to feel they
are a part of the city, and;
WHEREAS, the dedication of these volunteers and the many services
they render have contributed significantly to the enhancement of all City
services desired by the citizens of Alameda, and;
WHEREAS, because of continued use of volunteer efforts, the number
of volunteers and the number of volunteer hours has steadily increased,
and;
WHEREAS, the Information Desk, the Docent Program and the City
Hall tours continue to render public service information, allowing resi-
dents and visitors to become more familiar with City services as well as
City Hall, and;
WHEREAS, the Volunteer Program continues to provide meaningful
referral services for interested citizens to private and public agencies
in need of volunteer services, and;
WHEREAS, the City wishes to acknowledge that April 17th through
April 23rd has been declared National Volunteers' Week, and;
WHEREAS, the City Council also wishes to acknowledge the dedica-
tion and total commitment of the many City of Alameda volunteers for pro-
viding meaningful services to the City and for sustaining the high stan-
dards of the Volunteer Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ALAMEDA that it will continue to support the City of Alameda Volunteer
Program with pride and will look forward to its continued growth and the
opportunity to utilize the talents of the many generous people who con-
tribute so loyally.
