AUTHORIZING EXECUTION CF A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE ALAMEDA
UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR SUMMER CHILD CARE FOR THE SCHOOL AGE PARENT
AND INFANT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 1988-89
WHEREAS, the City is a participant in the Community Development Bock
Grant Program (CDBG) authorized under the Housing and Community Development
Act of 1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS, there is a citywide need for safe, available and affordable
child care; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the provision of operating funds to
child care programs serving low- and moderate-income families is an eligible
and desirable use of Urban Development Action Grant (UDAG) Loan Repayment
funds; and
WHEREAS, the City has programmed $14,200 in FY 1938-89 UDAG Loan
Repayment funds for summer child care for the School Age Parent and Infant
Program; and
WHEREAS, Alameda Unified School District exists and is qualified to
provide such services;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
the interim City Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, and the City
Clerk to attest on behalf of the City, a Grant Agreement with the Alameda
Unified School District for School Age Parent and Infant Program Summer Child
Care for Fiscal Year 1988-89.

Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 5th of July, 1988,

AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Haugner, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
