AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF GRANT AGREEMENT WITH BANANAS, INC. FOR CHILD
CARE VOUCHERS PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 1988-89
WHEREAS, the City is a participant in the Community Development
Block Grant Program (CDBG) authorized under the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS, there is a citywide need for safe, available and
affordable child care; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined deterrniried that the provision of child care
services is an eligible use of funds under Section 570,201(e) of the
CDBG regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City has programmed funds from the
FY 1988-89 Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program and
from FY 1988-39 UDAG Loan Repayment funds (Grant funds) for the purpose
of providing child care payments to providers for eligible families in
the City; and
WHEREAS, Bananas, Inc. exists and is qualified to provide said
services;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that the Interim City Manager be and hereby is authorized to
execute, and the City Clerk to attest, on behalf of the City, an
agreement with Bananas, Inc. for Child Care Vouchers for Fiscal Year.
