AWARDING CONTRACT TO WESTSTAR DISTRIBUTING, INC.
FOR GREENSMASTER MOWER FOR THE GOLF COURSE AND
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION THEREOF
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the 1988 -89
Equipment Replacement Fund for the purchase of a Greensmaster
mower for the Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, in December, 1987, the Council of the City of
Alameda approved the purchase of a Toro Greensmaster Mower Model
04350 from Weststar Distributing, Inc. which has improved the
appearance of the greens at the golf course, has reduced fungus
development in thatch growth and resulted in cost savings of at
least $5,338 annually in reduced labor; and
WHEREAS, Weststar Distributing, Inc. has submitted a
proposal for an additional Greensmaster Mower Model 04350 for the
sum of $13,329.75 reflecting a $500.00 trade -in allowance for an
older mower that no longer has value to the City; and
WHEREAS, said firm is a responsible bidder and its
proposal is the lowest and best bid received.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the proposal of Weststar Distributing, Inc. is
hereby accepted, the contract for one Toro Greensmaster Mower
Model 04350 with vari- speed, Wiehle Rollers with installed
groomers in the net amount of $13,329.75 is hereby awarded to
said bidder, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and
i the City Clerk to attest, said contract on behalf of the City of
:,. ,Alameda.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 2nd day of August, 1988,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Haugner, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
