CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO.
11540
ENDORSING ALA0EDA'S STATUS AS A
SELF-INITIATED CALIFORNIA MAIN STREET CITY
W8BRE&8, the city of Alameda has determined that the four-point approach
for commercial revitaliuutioo, developed by the Main Street Center of
the National Trust for historic Preservation, is appropriate for
implementation in the City of Alamedm'o historic downtown and
neighborhood commercial districts; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Main Street Project, a local non-profit
organization exists within the City of Alameda to provide technical
assistance according to the four-point program of orgunizatino,
prumntiou, design and economic restruturing; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Main Street Project Board of Directors is
reopomnibln for the supervision of the Main Street Project Manager; and
WHEREAS, the e FY I884-85 granted Community
Development 4/ur Urban Development Action Grant Loan Repayment funds
to the Alameda Main Street Project to merchants, property owners and
other interested groups and individuals;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the city of Alameda
that the City endorses Alameda's status as \u Self-Initiated California
Main Street City for Fiscal Year 1988-89.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 16th of August, 1988,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Monsef, Thomas and
President Corica - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
