AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A LEASE PURCHASE AGREEMENT
WITH U.S. LEASING/FORD MOTOR CREDIT FOR A NEW TELE-
PHONE SWITCH AND ASSOCIATED TELEPHONE EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, on June 7, 1988, the Council of the City of
Alameda awarded a contract to Tel-Plus Communications, Inc.
to supply a new telephone switch, and associated telephone
equipment, that would encompass all City offices; and
WHEREAS, several financial institutions which deal with
governmental lease purchase financing were contacted with U.S.
Leasing, a division of Ford Motor Credit, offering 7.9%
financing, paid monthly; and
WHEREAS, U.S. Leasing/Ford Motor Credit is a responsible
institution, its proposal offered the best rate received, it has
had experience in similar kinds of telecommunication equipment
leasing and has worked with Tel-Plus several times in arranging
lease financing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the City Manager be and hereby is authorized to
execute, and the City Clerk to attest to, on behalf of the City,
\\ a lease-purchase agreement with U.S. Leasing/Ford Motor Credit
for a new telephone switch and associated telephone equipment at
E k4 a cost not to exceed $267,478.67.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 6th. of September, 1988,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Counclmembers Arnerich,- Camicia, Monsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
