Resolution 11582CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11582 AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT FOR FRANKLIN PARK FROM THE PROJECT CONTINGENCY FUND, AN OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF A MULTI-PURPOSE PLAY UNIT AND ALLOCATION OF $6,800 FROM THE DWELLING UNIT TAX ACCOUNT WHEREAS, the Franklin Park renovation project contingency budget contains $18,280 in unexpended funds; and WHEREAS, Staff and the Recreation Commission have determined that the overall renovation project would be greatly enhanced by installing certain park equipment; and WHEREAS, total cost of said equipment, as described herein in Attachment A, would be $25,080; and WHEREAS, in addition to said unexpended funds an additional $6,800 will be required; and WHEREAS, a multi-purpose play unit for the "tot" play area, which is part of said equipment, can be best purchased in the open market from Game Time Equipment Company. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that said Council hereby authorizes the allocation of $18,280 of unexpended funds in the Franklin Park contingency budget for the purchase of said equipment. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $6,800 be allocated from the dwelling unit tax for the purchase of said equipment. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter the Recreation and Park Director, in cooperation with the City Purchasing Agent, is hereby authorized to purchase a multi-purpose play unit at a total price of approximately $11,000. ‘u, 2 fr-wi: o CL ATTACHMENT A Recommended Items to be Purchased for Franklin Park Project (costs are estimates). Plexipaving of Basketball Courts 2,830. Bike Racks (2) 300. Barbecues (2) 340. Picnic Tables (3) 1,310. Park Benches (6) 1,200. Additional Sand for Play Areas 800. Heavy Duty Hot Water Heaters and Garbage Disposal 700. Replacement of Chain Link Fence 1,500. Equipment for Park Building - Tables, Chairs 1,500. TOTAL $25,080. Unless otherwise directed the multi-purpose play unit will be purchased from "Game Time" as their unit provides the desired options at competitive prices. More importantly, it is the only multi-purpose unit reviewed compact enough to fit into the available space in the "tots" play area. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 1st of November, 1988, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Monsef, Thomas and President Corica - 5.
