AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT OF GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE ALAMEDA RED CROSS FOR
ANCILLARY SERVICES FOR HOMELESS ANCILLARY SERVICES FOR FY 1088-88
WHEREAS, the City is a participant in the Community Development
Block Grant Program (CDBG) authorized under the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974, as amended; and
WO8R8AS, it has been determined that the provision of ancillary
services for the homeless is an eligible use of funds under Section
570.301(e) of the CDBG regulations; and
W8DR8AS, it has been determined that the provision of said services
will help meet the needs of Alameda residents seeking temporary shelter;
and
WHEREAS, the City has programmed $17.380 in FY 1988-89 Community
Development Block Grant Entitlement funds for the purpose of providing
ancillary services to homeless persons and families in the City; and
WHEREAS, the American Red Cross/Alameda Chapter requests that a
portion of this budget be used for Motel Vouchers to temporarily house
homeless families;
N8W. TBDBEF0B8, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that the Agreement with The American Red Cross/Alameda Chapter
for ancillary services for the homeless for FY 1988-89 be amended to
reallocate $4.008 from emergency child care to Motel Vouchers.

the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 6th of December, 1988,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas and
President Corica - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Monsef
