Resolution 11658CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11658 AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF TEN PATROL VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, there is an allocation remaining in the Equipment Replacement Fund for five patrol vehicles for the Police Department 1-(1 be purchased during fiscal 1988-89; and WHEREAS, police patrol vehicles conforming to the standard set by specifications by the California Highway Patrol are available through a participating vendor, Swift Dodge, Inc. of Sacramento, California; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police recommends that in order to maintain economical maintenance and service and to contribute to the reduction of costs of replacement parts purchases and to ensure police patrol fleet standardization through 1990, that ten Dodge Diplomats be purchased from Swift Dodge, Inc. of Sacramento, California; and WHEREAS, Swift Dodge, Inc. offers to provide 10 Dodge Diplomats meeting the California Highway Patrol Specification for an all inclusive price of $108,812.00; and WHEREAS, $30,591.96 is available in the Equipment Replacement Fund to apply toward this purchase and that the remainder needed can be borrowed from the Police Assets Seizure Fund to complete this purchase. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter said Council hereby authorizes the purchase from Swift Dodge, Inc. of Sacramento, California ten Dodge Diplomats for the sum of $108,120.00 further bidding being unavailing. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 21st of February, 1989, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Nonsef, Thomas and President Corica - 5.
