AUTHORIZING USE OF CITY HALL PARKING LOT FOR
CAR-POOLING VEHICLES
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has asked its employees to
participate in the upcoming "Beat the Back-up" event sponsored by
KPIX radio and ABAG on February 28, 1989; and
WHEREAS, said event encourages people to help alleviate
traffic congestion, and reduce air pollution by sharing rides,
taking transit, walking or biking; and
WHEREAS, one no-cost incentive to motivate employees to
car-pool, is by providing "preferential" parking for car-poolers;
and
WHEREAS, the City Hall parking lot offers an advantage of
close-in parking;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that said Council hereby provides preferential
car-pooling stalls in the City Hall parking lot for participants
AS W who sign up both for the single day event on February 28, 1989,

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 21st of February, 1989,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Nonsef, Thomas
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
