APPROVING THE ALAMEDA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WASTE
MANAGEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, the Alameda County Waste Management Authority
has submitted the Alameda County Hazardous Waste Management Plan
for review and approval; and
WHEREAS, the development of said plan is a requirement of
the Tanner Bill (AB 2948) which stipulates that each county
prepare a comprehensive plan for managing the hazardous waste
produced by its industry, business and households; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda held a work
session on May 26, 1988 with staff from the Alameda County Waste
Management Authority to discuss a draft of the plan and
subsequent to that date has expressed various concerns
relative to the plan; and
WHEREAS, said concerns have been adequately addressed by
the Alameda County Waste Management Authority and are included in
the plan; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda County Waste Management Authority
has asked that each city in Alameda County review and comment on
the Alameda County Hazardous Waste Management Plan prior to the
Authority's final consideration scheduled for a March 22, 1989
meeting; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that said Council hereby approves of and endorses the
Alameda County Hazardous Waste Management Plan as submitted by
the Alameda County Waste Management Authority;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Council encourages the
Alameda County Waste Management and the Hazardous Waste Technical
Committee to begin the short range program implementation and
long range implementation as soon as possible.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in adjourned regular
meeting assembled on the 14th of March, 1989,
by the following vote to wit:
