Resolution 11674CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11674 AUTHORIZING THE BUREAU OF ELECTRICITY TO EXECUTE THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC UTILITY INSURANCE AUTHORITY JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Board of the City of Alameda desires to enter into a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement for the purpose of participating in an insurance program authorized by Article 4, Chapter 5, Division 7, Title 1 of California Government Code; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Alameda is authorized, pursuant to Chapter 5, Division 7, Title 1 of the California Government Code to enter into a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement with other local agencies; and WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Board has determined that entering into such a program will result in demonstrable savings and will maintain future options with regard to insurance coverage; and WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Board has authorized its President to execute the California Public Utilities Insurance Authority Joint Powers Agreement subject to approval by the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda as follows: Section 1. The form of joint exercise of powers agreement on file with the City Clerk of the City Council, and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby approved. Section 2. The execution of the agreement in -c substantially the form on file with the City Clerk, as authorized above, is hereby approved by the Council of the City of Alameda. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in adjourned regular meeting assembled on the 14th of March, 1989, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Monsef, Thomas and President Corica - 5.
