COMMENDING HADI MONSEF FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA AS CITY COUNCILMEMBER AND VICE-MAYOR
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA records its
appreciation for the six years of service faithfully rendered by
HADI MONSEF as Councilmember and Vice-Mayor of the City of
Alameda; and
WHEREAS, HADI MONSEF was appointed to the City Council on
May 17, 1983 to fill the vacancy of Anne Diament who was elected
Mayor; and
WHEREAS, HADI MONSEF was elected to the City Council on
April 16, 1985, and served from 1985 until April 18, 1989,
serving as Vice-Mayor from May 21, 1985 to May 19, 1987; and
WHEREAS, HADI MONSEF was the chief advocate and has been
instrumental in moving the Strategic Planning process forward;
and
WHEREAS, HADI MONSEF called for and was the prime support
of the Non-Smoking Ordinance to promote a clean and healthy
environment in the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, HADI MONSEF was a long-time supporter of the
City's underground utility districts and provided important
insights based upon his service on the Public Utilities Board;
and
WHEREAS, HADI MONSEF was a member of the original Cable
Television Advisory Committee that lead to the provision of cable
television in Alameda;
WHEREAS, HADI MONSEF was appointed and served as the
City's alternate delegate on the Alameda County Solid Waste
Management Authority on June 21, 1983, and was appointed delegate
on February 16, 1988; and
WHEREAS, HADI MONSEF was appointed the City of Alameda's
alternate representative on the Alameda County Training &
Employment Board/Associated Community Action Program on June 21,
1983, and appointed representative on June 16, 1987; and
WHEREAS, HADI MONSEF was appointed the City of Alameda's
alternate representative on the Alameda County Airport Land Use
Commission on June 16, 1987, serving until November 3, 1987; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Alameda does hereby express its sincere appreciation for
• his contributions of time, effort, and experience for the benefit
. of the community.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of

' community extend to HADI MONSEF their congratulations and best
wishes for continued good health, success, and much happiness.

Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
