AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF TURF SWEEPER
FOR THE GOLF COURSE
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the 1988-89 Capital
Outlay Budget to provide for the acquisition of a turf sweeper
for the golf course; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that a Olathe Sweeper
Model 54BBS00054 with a 0532 thatching reel is the best and most
economical unit offered for its intended use; and
WHEREAS, said turf sweeper can be purchased at a lower
price on the open market; and
WHEREAS, Olathe equipment is available only through
dealerships and West Star Distributing, Inc. of Hayward,
California is the authorized dealership in our area; and
WHEREAS, West Star Distributing, Inc. has submitted a
proposal for the Olathe Sweeper needed in the amount of
$15,515.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter said
Council hereby authorizes the purchase from West Star
Distributing, Inc. of one (1) Olathe Sweeper Model 54BBS00054
with a 0532 thatching reel for the golf course in the amount of
$15,515.00.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 2nd day of May, 1989,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas,
Withrow and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT:None.
