Resolution 11712CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11712 AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF A 22 UNIT MOBIL DIGITAL TERMINAL SYSTEM WHEREAS, in October 1988 the Council of the City of Alameda appropriated funds for a Mobil Digital Terminal System (MDT's) and directed the Police Department to proceed with the project; and WHEREAS, said appropriation included funding for consulting services from the Warner Group to develop specifications and conduct a selection study; and WHEREAS, in February 1989 the Warner Group completed a Request for Quotes (REQ) calling for a written proposal to provide a comprehensive, fully integrated, city-wide, 22 unit, Mobil Digital Terminal System, including specifications on all data processing to satisfy the Department's MDT requirements; and WHEREAS, being the original contractor on the existing Computer Aided Dispatch/Records Management System, Planning Research Corporation (PRC) was the only vendor solicited in March 1989 for the MDT's project; and WHEREAS, MDT's is a subsystem which interfaces with the existing PRC computer system; and WHEREAS, after negotiations with the Warner Group, PRC submitted a proposal of $319,411. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter the Police Department, in cooperation with the City Purchasing Agent, is hereby authorized to purchase the 22 unit Mobil Digital Terminal System from Planning Research Corporation of San Francisco for a sum not to exceed $334,411 (including PRC's bid of $319,411 plus $15,000 for contingencies). * * * * * * j E I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of May, 1989, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas, Withrow and President Corica - 5.
