AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH
THE ALAMEDA BOYS' CLUB FOR GYM REHABILITATION
FOR FISCAL YEAR 1989 -90
WHEREAS, the City is a participant in the Community Development
Block Grant Program (CDBG) authorized under the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS, there is a citywide need for safe and affordable
recreation services for low- and moderate- income youth;
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the provision of assistance to
improve facilities providing such services is an eligible use of funds
under Section 570.201 of the CDBG regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City has allocated $72,000 in FY1989 -90 Community
Development Block Grant Entitlement funds for the purpose of providing
this assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda
that the City Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, and the
City Clerk to attest, on behalf of the City, an agreement with the
Alameda Boys' Club, Inc. for rehabilitation of three elements
(replacement of both the gym floor and wainscot and insulation of the
ceiling and walls) of the Alameda Boys' Club gymnasium, located at 2050
Lincoln Avenue, Alameda, California.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 6th of June, 1989,
by the following vote to wit:

and President Corica - 5,
