APPROVING PRELIMINARILY ANNUAL REPORT DECLARING INTENTION
TO ORDER LEVY AND COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENTS AND PROVIDING FOR
NOTICE OF HEARING THEREOF - ISLAND CITY LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING
DISTRICT 84 -2
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda (the "City ") has duly
created the Island City Landscaping and Lighting District 84 -2
(the "District ") under the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972
(Sections 22500 and following of the Streets and Highways Code of
of California) (the "Act ") to install and maintain certain
landscaping and lighting improvements (the "Improvements ")p and
WHEREAS, the City has received a petition to annex
certain properties to the District and those properties are shown
on a copy of the petition which is marked as Exhibit "A" and is
attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the City has directed John H. Heindel, as
engineer of work for the District, to file an annual report in
accordance with the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, and
that report is on file with the City and shows the proposed
annexation of properties, the proposed improvements and the
estimated costs and assessments, all for the fiscal year 1989 -90.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Alameda that:
1. The proposed annexation of the properties shown in
Exhibit "A" are hereby preliminarily approved.
2. The report of the engineer of work on file with the
City is hereby preliminarily approved and the City intends to
levy assessments on the properties shown in the report for the
fiscal year 1989 -90, subject to any changes that may be ordered
by the Council.

will hold a public hearing on the proposed

4. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to give
notice of the hearing required by the Landscaping and Lighting
Act of 1972 by publishing a copy of this resolution once in the
Alameda Times Star, a newspaper published and circulated in the
City. Said publication shall be not later than 10 days before
the date of said hearing.
5. Interested persons should contact Marge McLean of the
Maintenance Service Center of the City of Alameda, 1616 Fortmann
Way, Alameda, California 94501, telephone number (415) 748 -4593,
regarding the hearing and the report.
LANDOWNER PETITION AND CONSENT
TO ANNEXATION TO MAINTENANCE DISTRICT
CITY OF ALAMEDA
Island City Landscaping and Lighting District 84-2
1. The undersigned is the owner of the land described below (the "Property").
2. The undersigned hereby request and consent to the annexation of the Property
to the island City Landscaping and Lighting District 84-2 (the "District") pursuant to the
Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1982 (Sections 22500 and follovving, California Streets
and Highways Code) for the purpose of providing maintenance of public landscaping and
lighting facilities of benefit to the Property.
3. The undersigned hereby waive the notice of public hearing for the annexation
to the District and the adoption of the annual budget, and the undersigned further
consent to the approval by the City Council of the City of Alameda of the Engineer's
Report for the Fiscal Year 1989-90.
