AWARDING CONTRACT TO GALLAGHER & BURK, INC.
FOR REPAIR AND RESURFACING OF CERTAIN STREETS,
PHASE 11, NO. P.W. 10-88-15 AND AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION THEREOF
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda heretofore
published notice calling for bids for Repair and Resurfacing of
Certain Streets, Phase 11, in accordance with Specifications No.
P.W. 10-88-15 approved June 6, 1989; and
WHEREAS, in response to said notice a sealed bid was
submitted by Gallagher & Burk, Inc. agreeing to perform said work
in accordance with said Specifications for the sum of
$574,232.70; and
WHEREAS, funding availability will allow work under the
base bid plus add alternate #3 only; and
WHEREAS, Gallagher & Burk, Inc. agreed to perform work
under the base bid plus add alternate #3 in accordance with said
Specifications for the sum of $540,592.70; and
WHEREAS, said firm is a responsible bidder and its
proposal is the lowest and best bid received.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the bid of Gallagher & Burk, Inc. is hereby
accepted, the contract for Repair and Resurfacing of Certain
Streets, Phase 11, is hereby awarded to said bidder, and the
Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to
attest, said contract on behalf of the City of Alameda.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 5th of July, 1989,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers ArnerLch, Camicia, Thomas, Withrow
and President Corica - 5,
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
