AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF GRANT AGREEMENT WITH
SENTINEL LANDLORD /TENANT ASSISTANCE PROJECT
FOR HOUSING SUPPORT SERVICES AND FAIR HOUSING COUNSELING
IN FISCAL YEAR 1989 -90
WHEREAS, Equal Housing Opportunity is a right guaranteed to all
Americans under Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968; and
WHEREAS, the City is a participant in the Community Development
Block Grant Program authorized under the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974 as amended; and
WHEREAS, Housing Support Services and Fair Housing Counseling are
eligible uses of CDBG funds under Sections 570.201(e) and 570.206(c) of
the CDBG regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City has carried - forward $846 from FY 1988 -89 and
programmed $33,054 in FY 1989 -90 Community Development Block Grant
Entitlement funds: $30,400 for Housing Support Services and $3,500 for
Fair Housing Counseling; and
WHEREAS, the Subgrantee represents that it is qualified to provide
said services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that the City Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute,
and the City Clerk to attest, on behalf of the City, a Grant Agreement
with Sentinel Landlord /Tenant Assistance Project for Housing Support
Services and Fair Housing Counseling for Fiscal Year 1989 -90.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 5th of July, 1989,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas, Withrow
and President Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
