AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF GRANT AGREEMENT WITH
UNITED PILIPINOS OF ALAMEDA FOR
EMERGENCY SHELTER OPERATIONS IN FISCAL YEAR 1989 -90
WHEREAS, the City is a participant in the Community Development
Block Grant Program (CDBG) authorized under the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS, there is a need for emergency shelter for women and
families; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the provision of emergency
shelter services is an eligible use of funds under Section 570.201(e) of
the CDBG regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City has carried - forward $1,095 from FY 1988 -89 and
programmed $13,725 in FY 1989 -90 CDBG Entitlement funds for the purpose
of providing emergency shelter services to homeless women and families
in the City; and
WHEREAS, the Subgrantee represents it is qualified to provide
emergency services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that the City Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute,
and the City Clerk to attest, on behalf of the City, a Grant Agreement
with United Pilipinos of Alameda for Emergency Shelter Services for
Fiscal Year 1989 -90.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 5th of July, 1989,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Thomas, Withrow
and President Corica 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
