Resolution 11829CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 11829 AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF AN ADDITIONAL DISK DRIVE FOR THE MICROVAX II COMPUTER WHEREAS, there are funds available in the 1989 -90 Capital Outlay - Additions Budget to allow for the purchase of an additional disk drive for the Microvax II computer. WHEREAS, it has been determined that the best disk drive for Alameda's intended use is the through the Digital Equipment Corporation; and WHEREAS, Digital Equipment Corporation is the only company that can provide the necessary disk drive equipment and guarantee compatability with our present system, reliable maintenance and availability of parts. WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 3 -15 of the City Charter, the Council may determine that materials or supplies can be purchased at a lower price in the open market and thereupon proceed to purchase such materials in the open market. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter, the Police Department, in cooperation with the City Purchasing Agent, is hereby authorized to purchase a disc drive and disk from Digital Equipment Corporation via Planning Research Corporation at the all inclusive cost of $20,213.74 in the open market without formal bidding procedures. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 19th of September, 1989, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Thomas, Withrow and Acting President Arnerich - 4. NOES: None. ABSENT: Mayor Corica - 1.
