AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF ONE PARKING
ENFORCEMENT VEHICLE FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the 1989 -90
Equipment Replacement Fund to allow for the purchase of a parking
enforcement vehicle for the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the best parking
enforcement vehicle for Alameda's intended use is the Cushman
Police Haulster vehicle; and
WHEREAS, Golden Bear Equipment Company is the only
authorized distributor for this specific model; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 3 -15 of the City
Charter, the Council may determine that materials or supplies can
be purchased at a lower price in the open market and thereupon
proceed to purchase such materials in the open market.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter
the Police Department, in cooperation with the City Purchasing
Agent, is hereby authorized to purchase one Cushman Police
Haulster, parking enforcement vehicle, from Golden Bear Equipment
Co. at the all inclusive cost of $8,805.09 in the open market
without formal bidding procedures.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 19th of September, 1989,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Thomas, Withrow and
Acting President Arnerich - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Mayor Corica 1,
