AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF COPIERS FOR
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND CITY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the 1989-90
Budget to allow for the purchase of copiers for the Fire
Department and City Attorney's Office; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the best copiers
for Alameda's intended use is the MITA Model DC 2585; and
WHEREAS, UBEC Business Equipment Co. offers to provide
two MITA DC 2582 copiers at the all inclusive net price of
$11,309.90; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 3-15 of the City
Charter, the Council may determine that materials or supplies can
be purchased at a lower price in the open market and thereupon
proceed to purchase such materials in the open market.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter
the City Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to purchase two
MITA DC 2585 copiers from UBEC Business Equipment Co. at the all
inclusive cost of $11,309.90 in the open market without formal
bidding procedures.

Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 3rd of October, 1989,
