AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF ONE 1/2-
TON PICK-UP TRUCK FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the budget for the
purchase of one 1/2-ton pick-up truck for the Police Department;
and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the best vehicle
available is a 1989 Chevrolet pick-up truck; and
WHEREAS, Good Chevrolet of Alameda offers to provide one
1989 Chevrolet 1/2-ton pick-up truck at the all inclusive net price
of $12,952.49; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 3-15 of the City
Charter, the Council may determine that great necessity requires
immediate action and thereupon proceed to purchase such supplies
in the open market; and
WHEREAS, great necessity exists to acquire said pick-up
truck to enable the City to immediately commence the commercial
enforcement program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of
the City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City
Charter the City Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to purchase
one 1989 1/2-ton pick-up truck from Good Chevrolet for the all
inclusive price of $12,952.49.
