AUTHORIZING RECEIPT OF FUNDS GRANTED BY ALAMEDA COUNTY
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, FROM GENERAL FUND MONIES, TO CITY
OF ALAMEDA FOR SENIOR CITIZENS SERVICES FOR FISCAL YEAR
1989-1990
WHEREAS, from fiscal years 1982-83 through 1985-86, funds for
providing services at the Mastick Senior Center were allocated from
the Title III Federal Older American Act and administered through
the County Department on Aging; and
WHEREAS, at the end of fiscal year 1985-86, the funding
criteria was targeted to non-profit, minority organizations and
the municipal senior centers became ineligible for said funding;
and
WHEREAS, in fiscal year 1986, staff from nine cities,
including Alameda, formed a coalition and formally presented a
request for continued funding of Senior Center operations to the
County Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, since said request, the City of Alameda has annually
received County general funds with fiscal year 1989-90 funds being
granted in the amount of $16,497;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that said Council hereby authorizes receipt of funds
granted from the County of Alameda in the amount of $16,497 for
fiscal year 1989-90 to provide services at the Mastick Senior
Center;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager and City Clerk
be, and each hereby is, authorized and directed to execute and to
attest to, respectively, on behalf of the City, said funding
agreement.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of
November, 1989, by the following vote to wit:
