AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF ONE GROUNDMASTER
580-D MOWER FOR THE PARKS DIVISION
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the budget for
the purchase of one mower for the Parks Division; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the best mower
available is a Groundmaster 580-D Mower; and
WHEREAS, West Star Distributing Company offers to
provide one Groundmaster 580-D Mower at the all inclusive net
price of $47,965.00; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 3-15 of the City
Charter, the Council may determine that materials or supplies can
be purchased at a lower price in the open market and thereupon
proceed to purchase such materials in the open market; and
WHEREAS, the Groundmaster 580-D Mower can be purchased
at a lower price in the open market.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter
the City Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to purchase one
Groundmaster 580-D Mower at the all inclusive cost of $47,965.00
in the open market without formal bidding procedures.
