Resolution 12215CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12215 SUPPORTING A JOINT APPLICATION TO THE STATE BY THE CITIES OF OAKLAND AND BERKELEY FOR DESIGNATION OF A RECYCLING MARKET DEVELOPMENT ZONE WHEREAS, the cities of Oakland and Berkeley are preparing a joint application to the state for designation as a Recycling Market Development Zone; and, WHEREAS, Alameda is interested in working with Oakland and UL. Berkeley on regional marketing efforts and issues; and, 0 WHEREAS, a Recycling Marketing Development Zone in the community will attract businesses that use or process secondary materials thereby improving the market for Alameda's 110 tons per week of recyclable materials; and, WHEREAS, Alameda is interested in future expansion of a Recycling Market Development Zone; and, WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is prepared to have staff work with Oakland and Berkeley on regional market development programs; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda is in full support of the joint application by the cities of Oakland and Berkeley to receive state designation for a Recycling Market Development Zone. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 17th day of March , 1992, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth and President Withrow - 5.
